Grimsby Veterinary Care!

Livingston Animal Hospital is affectionately known as “The Little Clinic with a Big Heart”. We take pride in delivering personalized, compassionate care to our patients and their pet parents in Grimsby and surrounding areas. Our team strives to provide a comfortable environment for our patients and clients and we want everyone, either two-legged or four, to feel welcome as soon as they enter our veterinary clinic. This all starts with a warm hello for you and a yummy treat for your pet.

Pets can be very stoic and often do not exhibit signs of pain, discomfort, or developing disease. We are trained to see the subtle signs and therefore treat your furry family to ensure that they can continue to have the best quality of life for a long time.

Jessica

Ever since I was young I always knew that I wanted a career in veterinary medicine. I grew up in Peterborough ON and many small critters always seemed to make their way home with me. Growing up and I was fortunate to have all kinds of animals in my life from an early age such as dogs, cats, horses and whatever wildlife happened to be around. Horses have always been an important part of my life. I started riding somewhere around age ten and still ride English up until this day. I have done a bit of everything from showing to training horses to harness racing – horses are my passion. Currently I have two cats at home named Sassy (Himalayan) and Jasper (Ragdoll), fish, and even some freshwater shrimp. My other hobbies include reading, arts and crafts, camping, archery and graphic design.
I graduated from Seneca College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2012 and since then I have completed certificates in both Equine Functional Anatomy and Equine Exercise Physiology at Guelph University. I also have taken a course on drawing blood from human patients should I ever decide to do something along those lines. I started off my career in veterinary emergency medicine but after three years decided I would like to do small animal practice where I have been ever since.
In March 2018 joined the team at Livingston Animal Hospital and am enjoying every bit of it.
Technician

Nicole

Hi! My Name is Nicole and I joined the Livingston team in September 2019. Before that I spent 11 years at a mixed animal practice in Somerset England, where I trained and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. I graduated from Cannington College in 2014. After having two wonderful kids, we decided to move back to Canada.
I have spent my whole life around animals and spent almost my entire working life in jobs that deal with animals in one way or another. I really love working with animals and while I was in England I thoroughly enjoyed going on the farm visits. Growing up my family had a wide array of pets from rabbits and guinea pigs to bearded dragons, and of course a few cats and dogs. I currently have 1 dog named Stan who I got as a rescue while in England and he made the trip to Canada with us. I also have a black cat named Emily and some guppies. In my spare time I love hiking, camping, reading and spending time with my family, furry and human.

Reception/Assistant

Samantha

All my life I have been around animals. Whether it was rescuing the injured critters in my neighborhood, horseback riding or volunteering at the local SPCA. My family and friends have always known I would enter the animal care field, which I have been in for over 6 years now. Currently I am studying to become a Veterinary Technician, but also to earn a Wildlife Biology and Conservation degree that will help further my passion for rescuing and rehabilitating all kinds of wildlife. My other hobbies include art, traveling and camping with my partner Kaleb and our rescue dog, Runner. Runner is an Akita Husky that may have some behavioral issues with other animals due to his past but is an absolute suck for love and attention.
I have been part of the Livingston Team since January 2022 and I could not be happier! I hope to continue to learn and create new practices for handling rescue dogs with behavioral issues such as my own. I can be found in our reception area or assisting one of our two accomplished and compassionate Veterinarians. With new and exciting things to learn every day, I am excited to see what the future holds!
